Something is wrong with my computer's sound system. At first I thought it could be my speakers because they're pretty old and could get blown out easily but I plugged the speakers into my MP3 Player and they're working just fine. So obviously the computer is the problem. Anyway the sound skips a lot when I try to listen to music so any thoughts? Thanks. (btw the files are perfectly fine)

Check your RAM (PF) usage in task manager. Same applies for cpu usage.

They both stay relatively low (CPU usage under 50% at all time and RAM I've never seen go above 30%) 2.6GHz CPU and 4GB of RAM.

What do you use to play music? You can set Winamp so it's a high-priority player that won't skip as much but will use more memory in the process.

I use Windows Media Player. Is Winamp a lot better?
