Has anyone ever been to an job interview for guitar center?
Were you asked questions about brands, products, etc?
How was it?

I have been to one today and have been asked : I have done research on most of these questions and found little answers.

What is the best guitar brand/suitable for playing country?

What is the best guitar brand/suitable for playing jazz?

What is the best guitar brand/suitable for playing blues?

Difference between J and P bass.

What is difference between rosewood and maple fretboards.

Difference of fretless and fretted bass.

Difference of tube and solid state amps.

Difference of stratocasters, telecasters.

Is there any other stuff you guys think I should cover in studying more?

Thanks

Those first three you listed are answerable entirely upon opinion.

From my experience visiting guitar center stores, I've my doubts that you really need to be that knowledgeable.

Those are rather crappy questions, i mean you cant have a 'best' company for a certain genre its all a mettaer of opinion.

they didnt give you GC-standard answers? it seems like the point of training is to train someone to answer these questions.

Don't get a job there. They are in debt and might go out of buisness soon

It's just to weed out the idiots who say "Jackson" for the first three, I'm guessing.

If you didnt know... EVERYONE IS IN DEBT NOW DAYS!!

Anyways, i dont think guitar center would be a bad place to work, if they go out of business, oh well, doesnt really affect you that much if you're only a floor salesman or less.

I'm sure it wasn't to quiz him on the "best" company. It was probably to hear his justification for the answer.

The first 3 are opinion based. The customer has to work that out. But steer them in the direction of a telecaster, a hollowbody and a strat or the like, respectively. I don't have the patience to answer the rest, just thought that I'd let you know that.

well, the guy did give me some answers, like telecasters for jazz or something. I was pretty clueless on the questions.. lol. He told me to go home and study more and call back 2 weeks... I guess he was asking "Which brand/guitar is more suitable for each genre", Like if a customer was to come in, if he asks "Which guitar would you recommend to play country? And I can refer one. So any answers or suitable answers to those questions will really help.

Thanks
