The grey looks nice. I know plenty of people who have the same basic Squier, a grey one would be very original. Even if you're buying it for the looks, it's not like you're getting a Thunderbird, BC Rich, or Dean

True, the squier is not basstacular but you could do far worse like the 3 mentioned above.

I think your best deal might be to save 40 quid more then get this one:

They are realy great value for money.

I say yea, but get a VM if you can. If not go for that one.

If the neck is like my MB-5, you'll love it.
Nope, no sig here.

I love how the describe the finish as 'Candy Apple Red'.

But i like the bass. Not basstacular, as stated above, but it's pretty decent.

Its not actually in the grey colour. I saw this bass in a shop the other day, it looks great IRL!

well thats fairenough.. but 40 quid means another two months..
and i really cant be arsed.

also warwicks dont go down well with me. ive played a few from a cheap to a top of the range one.

top of the range gave me ****ing electric shock when i played it!!!
and the others just dont feel right, and i dont like the tone from the strings and body..

im very much a fender guy.

Me too, I would much rather have the Squire than the Rock bass. I haven't played that particular one, but I'm sure it sounds similar to a GSR200 P/J but with the "Fender" feel.
#26
i have the bass in question and its not a bad one it can take a lot of beatings( i should stop dropping it) and it sounds great
.get it

Well if you are a fender guy, fair enough. But then save for a fender not a squier. Even a mexican fender is so much better then a squier and in the long run you will have more pleasure from the fender then the squier even if it takes another 2 months before you can get it. To me its worth waiting.

I like it too, BUT in my Experience Agathis doesn't make a great bass body for punch & sloid sound- IMHO get a cheaper Squier & mod it- one w/ an alder body!
Tubes - warm & bright- keep the fire alight!

Thats plain stupid. Withe money spend on the squier and modifications you can get a real fender.

That said, it looks alright, but calling a Squier "basstacular" is just silly, no matter what.

I kinda disagree here The Squier VM Jazz that I played was just as good as the MIM Jazz I tried. But as for the Squier P-bass special v MIM, I have to agree with you.

I think you would be much wiser choosing a Vintage Modified Jazz or MIM Jazz. It really is worth it in the long run- even if you have to save up for a month longer or so. But really, the answer lies with you, go try them all out!
