So I just woke up sitting in my desk chair, with my bong on the desk in a bunch of little pieces and my hand super glued to my penis. Speculations as to what the hell just happened and how to unglue my hand from my member would be appreciated.

It's called a capo dude....

you dont get the same sound with a capo as you do with open strings. thats why the song "like a stone" by audioslave is actually played tuned one and a half steps up with 8 guage strings on the recording. morello said he tried it with a capo and it just didnt sound as good. so yeah, thats why you wouldnt use a capo.

TS, yes you can tune up. you shouldnt damage your neck with 1/2 step up and 10s. any more and i would suggest dropping to 9s though.

I actually like Tuning 1/2 step up. If I'm not playing any Metal, it gives a much nicer and "bouncier" feel. Go for it!

You do know only the 12 string side is a half step up?

So is his 6 stringed guitar.

The Offspring uses that tuning on some songs too.
I don't see why it woud hurt. Unless your guitar is a pile of sh*t

How to achieve Frank Zappa's guitar tone:

Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.
