What's a good practice amp within the 0-150USD range?

I kinda wanted the Orange Crush 10 and get an effects pedal.
But should I go for something else?

I know theres the micro cube
Is it better than the Cube 15?
or the battery powered Vox?

I looking for something with good distortion/metal sound.

The DA5 is pretty good for practice. As are the Spiders and the Cube series amps.

I'd go Cube for br00talz though.

well ur spider is ALREADY a practice amp. maybe you should just try and sell/trade it for a smaller wattaged one and use the extra money to start saving for an upgrade later on. i'm just saying this b/c going from one practice amp to another doesn't really help too much...even w/ $150 ur halfway towards some really nice choices tonewise in amps.

I'm a tube/valve wh0re so I'm gonna recommend Valve JR/BlackHeart w/pedal.

However, cube 15 is better than microcube. Cube 30 is probably ideal for $150.

What about the Kustom tube amps?
I think it was the Kustom 12A

Meh, I don't think I want a tube.
Remember I want teh br00talz.
haha

Leaning towards
-The micro Pube or the 15W Cube
-Vox Da5 or Da15
+Line 6 Spider 3 15w (I don't think I'll get it though)

And is the Vox AD's any good?

I hate to say it, but if you want the br00tals, don't get the vox. And do NOT get the spider, the only usable channel is the clean one.

The cube would be the best for you.

Cube will Smoke the Vox in metal.

I'm going for the Cube.

and it looks like the sun has rised in the UK. Good morning.
But I don't want a tube..
Because,
1. Not in my budget (Well a good tube amp at least)
2. I probably can't get the tone I want from plugging straight in.

The cube can't do them any better. Cubes are wonderful clean but the distortion on them is a joke. They just give you a clean slate for your pedal board.
Not taking any online orders.

I'm just saying that the VJ can't do teh br00talz. It doesn't have the right voicing and pedals aren't really an option if you have it loud because it breaks up.

I never mentioned the Cube though.

But since we're on the Cube... At least the Cube will stay clean when it's loud. The R-Fier and Metal stacks aren't too bad either.

That's just what I think anyways.

Get the microcube over the cube 15
86% of the people who frequent the "Electric Guitar" forum would say that they have played guitar for under 5 years.
