is it possible to install dimarzio pickup rings on ibanez j.customs?
they come with direct-mounted pups.
will it be tedious if it is possible?
i'd like to improve the height adjustment for the instrument as pickup rings seem to have higher reach (can reach nearer to the strings).

They don't, so you don't need to worry about it

sorry, maybe it's not directly mounted onto the body.
but i tried it in the shop, and the pups can only go up to a certain level before it becomes loose.
and i heard guitars with pup rings can raise the pups further.
i'm interested in this model so i need to find a solution.

Why would you need the pick-ups 'that' close anyway? Too close and the magnetic pull will start affecting sustain.

you know i own a john petrucci ebmm signature and the problem i'm having with that model is the volume drop from bridge pup to neck pup, all because of pup height. and they are not adjustable.
