Ok, little bit of back story. I went to a 40th the other day. It was one of the guys my dad went to school with. And all of my Dad's friends were there. And I was sitting on the couch and all his mates were around and I can not remember my dad seeming that... in his element in a while. So this is the song i'm playing at his fourtieth for him and his friends. I wrote it on the piano that was at my dad's mates house that night so it's finished already. Just wanted ideas. You guys used to help heaps and i just want to know what you think. I'm going for a "Soco Amoretta Lime" type thing. The repeated chorus is done because it's sung really quiet and crescendoed.

We lived out of each others pockets
My friend, we were the be all and the
End of that Era was like a brand new life
You see, I can't explain this life
Things haven't changed that much
No we're still the same as we were back
Then we took some stupid risks but now
You see, we're back on track it seems

Here we are again, just like old friends
On couches in our houses, spilling hearts
Here we are again, just like old friends
Spilling hearts and, splitting hands again

We don't hide our alcohol now
In front of your parents we shall
Spill things down our fronts and laugh
You see, we don't have that fear
Of getting caught red handed
It's almost like there's a deal
No one leaves tonight without alcohol
You see, we're all a bit tipsy already

Here we are again, just like old friends
On couches in our houses, spilling hearts
Here we are again, just like old friends
Spilling hearts and, splitting hands again
Here we are again, just like old friends
On couches in our houses, spilling hearts
Here we are again, just like old friends
Spilling hearts and, splitting hands again

We lived out of each others pockets
My friend, we were the be all and the
End of that Era was like a brand new life
You see, I can't explain this life

This just reminded me of the time that my brother in law texted his mom on the night after his wedding. All it said was "Consummated."
