I"m getting ready to clean my ebony fretboard on my 93 Gibson Les Paul Studio. I just wanted to make sure it was safe to use super fine steel wool on the fretboard to clean it. Is it alright for ebony? Also any other tips on cleaning would be appreciated.

By the way, I'm using Gerlitz Guitar Honey.

Just a few points about the Gerlitz Products.....

1. There are NO abrasives, or silicones in ANY of the Gerlitz products.
2. They will not damage ANY finish, and are designed especially for use with delicate Nitro Cellulose finishes and untreated wood.
3. The combo of Guitar Honey and 000 grade wire wool is my favourite fingerboard cleaner/fret polishing.
4. if you are using rough sandpaper on your fingerboard go and see a doctor.

I am the only seller of Gerlitz products in the UK.

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

**** you gilly, it's not what you think
