Discuss an amazingly underrated band. I can't find anywhere that sells anything by Sabbat. Not even online.

Everybody thinks the UK Sabbat is better than the JPN Sabbat.

They are....
Japanese Sabbat are still focking cool, I have their first couple of albums and a bunch of their official live bootlegs, savage stuff.

Sabbat really isn't all that hard to find if you know where to look. They are a ****ing awesome band though. They stole a better part of a year of my life when I used to constantly listen to them.

I thought I had them but when I looked all I found was a gay power metal called Sabaton.

SO if Janne and Alexi did a gay porn, would I be the only one willing to buy it?

That's a dumb question, you know everyone in here would buy it too. I know I would!

Cool band, albeit nothing mindblowing. Their first four albums (and the various EPs they released prior to them) are all really sweet. I have seen reissues available online, though I can't think of any websites off the top of my head.

something that Sabbat, and other Jap bands (such as Cut Throat, G.I.S.M. <- not really metal i know, but metallic, Syphilitic Vaginas, Abigail) and to a lesser extent other Asian bands (Abhorer, Impiety etc) gets me thinking about something i probably can't articulate but will try anyway and no doubt make a mess of this post

the metal spirit, which is hard to define but any of you worth your weight in metal will know exactly what im talking about, is undoubtedly what draws most people to metal, sets metal apart from other genres even when the two are very, very similar, and is why the genre is so diverse, yet fans can enjoy styles of metal all over the spectrum (eg, i like Black Sabbath and Conqueror). right, anyway, Asians, and Japanese in particular - Sabbat being pretty much the epitome of this idea of mine - seem to have a completely different take on the metal spirit - a perversion of it almost. not to say that's bad - it's great, very enjoyable, and has a certain charm.

does anyone else get wtf im talking about??

I wouldn't say Asian bands have a perversion of metal, Chthonic, Antelion, and the only two mainland Chinese bands I know of all sound pretty metal without a vastly different take on it. It sounds a little more Asian and that's about it.

But I get what you're trying to say about Japanese bands, but think about it. It's Japan. You're surprised Japan has a perverted take on metal?

I just received the metal box sample yesterday. It will suck to have these sitting around in the house for two years, but it's a small price to pay for getting to released this collection. The minimum order qty for these metal boxes was 2000 so I had to do this in conjunction with the Conqueror metal box.

As stated in the other thread, this boxset will be released in 2014 to celebrate Sabbat's 30th year in existence. It will contain all recordings and video footages from 1984 to 1990. In addition, I plan to include a massive booklet of old photos, original EP covers, inserts, and whatever else I can cram in there. It will be ****ing extensive!

I've known about this for a little while (It's been news since 2011), but I just keep getting more and more excited for this release. Surely some of you must feel my joy. IT IS GETTING CLOSER, BOYS.

So close in fact, that Yosuke is starting to get the shirts out for it:

But if you're just a fan of the vinyl, next year will be your year.
