so a friend of mine has a fender metalhead SS stack. when he cranks it on the distortion channel, it gets muddy (since its an SS). i was wondering, what could he do to tighten up the sound?

i know some people put an OD pedal on top of the distortion channel, but would that work well for an SS amp? or would it just make it sound worse?

thanks.

I had to go look it up to see this amp. Question I have is what is the point of this thing. Besides being cheap and loud. Competition for the MG.
