right Metallica is a given. Personally I like to pretend the bus exploded and killed them all in '86.

Build a Ruby, or a LittleGem.

g/bedit: I guess that didn't answer your question, No they really aren't any good, I really didn't like the tone, I can't compare to the MG because I've never actually played one though.

dude they all are the same, its just for clipping onto your belt so you can play around the house, i wouldnt worry about the tone so much, look more into features. the marshall one does have a drive channel, which is a plus.

go for headphones and a pocket pod, the mini amps are tinny and have no low end at all being that the speaker(s) is/are so small.
I have the tonemaster mini Fender and did some recordings with the SM57 mic on my high end recording setup:

Other options:
Build a Ruby amp - good clean and OD but youll need an OD pedal for some good distortion.
Vox AmPlug - nice and compact, nice price, good design and sound all around.

go for the Fender Mini Tweed '59 or whatever it's called. I couldn't find one and got the Marshall. it's okay...it can really only attain a fuzz distorted tone, or at a best a gritty clean.

they sound decent, but with almost no bass. what can you expect from a little 2" speaker

reminds me of Sunshine Of Your Love, tonewise.
