If any of you subscribe to Guitar world magazine, you will notice that in the very last page of it, there is a section showing what a certian artist's live set up is, and I was wondering, what is your dream live setup? Amps, guitars, pedals, whatever.

PLEASE BE AS SPECIFIC AS YOU CAN BE!

My guitars would be my SG, a Jackson 24RR V (tuned to D standard), a Gibson EDS-1275, and a American SSS strat w/21 frets and a maple fretboard.

These would be plugged (in order) into a Boss tuner, an Electro Harmonix POG, a volume pedal, a Dunlop Crybaby from Hell, Ibanez TS-9, Line 6 DL4, then, a line splitter with one line going directly into a Marshall JCM 800 for my dirty sound.

The other line would be solely for my clean sound, and it would go into an MXR Stereo Chorus, kept on the entire time, and then into a Fender 65 Twin Reverb.

The line splitter would be a one button stomp box, so that there would be no signal loss, but only able to use one amp at a time.

How about you?

I'm not gonna get technical on the pedals or little effects/rig.

But:

Guitar: B.C. Rich Custom Shop 7-String V for solo work, because I use Bb and A standard tunings. For backup, I'd use a Schecter C-7 Jeff Loomis. For my main band stuff, I'd use my current guitar: B.C. Rich Custom shop Stealth which is in E Standard tuning.

Amp: Mesa Roadking and an ENGL Blackmore. The Mesa for heavy duty riffing, and the Blackmore for crisp, smooth lead tones. Probably would use the Mesa live and switch between the two in studio.

I might as well say, I'd also end up using a Rocktron Prophecy if I wanted to flip around my settings live.

Good topic. For me I'd have to go with a 1960 somethin gibson sg and a 1960 fender strat for guitars. anything marshall from the 70's. i dont really need effects, i think i would be good with that setup forever.

A nice mutt of a guitar with a semi-hollow fender strat body, a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge, and singles in the neck and middle, along with a Hughes and Kettner Triamp MkII, and a nice cab. Plus whatever effects I felt like.
#9
for guitars, id have a american strat, and a vintage gibson les paul from '58,

amps would be marshalls from the 70's, full stack, for pedals

a vox cylde mccoy wah, boss chorus, dallas fuzz face.

•5 Charvel and Fender Superstrats (Eb, E, Drop D, D Standard, C#

An addition to my rig, I'd also have a Mesa Triple Rectifier that could be used as a stand alone or in conjunction with the Marshall for a different high gain sound.

I'd also have a custon made Classical guitar, and maybe a Taylor too, set up on one of those stands so I can switch back and forth quickly.

Not really on topic, but I've never understood what people see in the JSX amps. They are too sqawky sounding for me,

I bought one, and originally I agreed. But if you drop the EL34s for some 6l6's, and throw some preamp tubes it's pretty exquisite.

The clean channel could be a little warmer.

But, on topic:
PRS Custom 24
PRS 12 string
PRS Standard 24(my current guitar)
ESP Custom shop

Diezel Herbert
Mesa MkIV

G-System, with assorted stomp boxes, and some rack processing.

You never see people use those. It's a very underrated piece of gear.

On-topic, custom Les Paul into a Hughes and Kettner TriAmp head, through a Carvin Legacy cabinet.

Mine would be this

ESP V-500, Jackson RR24, ESP M-1000, Jackson US Kelly w/EMGs
