Anybody know any good songs that are hardcore/metalcore/deathcore/mathcore that involve a melodic, somewhat beautiful sounding section of the song thrown in somewhere between heavy, pummeling hardcore music....I'm not talking about As I Lay Dying or Killswitch Engage where they sing the verse heavy and then have soft sung chorus...I'm looking for more non-convential song structures or at least a melodic beautiful sounding solo thrown in somewhere....some examples I'm thinking of are

A good majority of Between the Buried and Me songs

Glass Casket- In Between the Sheets (the soft section into the solo to almost emo sounding singing)

All That Remains- Six (I'm speaking more of the soft part transitioning into the solo, not the use of a clean vocaled chorus like most ATR songs)

A lot of Protest The Hero songs- Heretics and Killers is one that stands out where he keeps saying "textbook of my lying, dying, crying history" or whatever

Poison the Well kind of has these melodies in their songs sometimes

That's really all I can think of off the top of my head...I just love getting pummeled with hardcore music then having a random soft beautiful melody come out nowhere

Its more metal, but Opeth is known for stuff like that. IWRESTLEDABEARONCE has some, but I've never been a fan of the softer passages, as much as I love the heavier parts. Circle Takes the Square has a lot of great soft passages as well.

Check out older With Passion. They have some short melodic interludes that I find to be very unique for their style of music. Not really "beautiful", but very well played and perfectly incorporated into the song. Yeah theyre one of my fav bands (RIP) if you couldnt tell.

Modern Life Is War - Witness

/end thread.

one of the greatest melodic hardcore album, ever.

men as trees is a great suggestion too.

If you want some more ambient stuff, but still heavy and beautiful, Pelican's Self-titled album or "The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw" will do it for you. Or Giant's album SONG. I think you'll like SONG. Tides, Isis and Oceans are good bands too.

Misery Signals. Check out In Summary of What I Am, The Stinging Rain, and Dream Atlantic if you haven't heard them. I also agree with whoever said Hopesfall. Basically any of the songs off The Satellite Years or No Wings To Speak Of.
