I am looking for a new amp with enough wattage to play over drums and 1 other guitar. I play heavy metal ect. I am only looking to spend about 500.
Any Suggestions?

A lot of people might hate me for saying this, but a Line 6 spider III in my opinion, is awesome. Mine is 120 watts and it costed exactly 500. And it's pretty freaking loud.

Bugera 212 might be around 600 for it but they're real loud and I've heard the tone is nice..I myself am Purchasing the 6262 head.

ehh, if your going like metallica metal dont go marshall, they dont have enough gain and dont give you that low cut mid sound. if thats what your going for.

a spider III isnt a bad choice, i have one, i would never take it into a studio or work a serious band with it, the tone is great for messing around.

i say a nice crate combo amp, but i dont really know what sound you want.

band examples maybe?

because you can have like, Ozzy Metal, Slipknot Metal, and Disturbed Metal, which give out different tones

hahah great choices my friend!

look into the crate VTX vintage effects series

HUGEEE variety of sounds like more then a spider III, pretty good effects right on the amp with an onboard tuner

you can get so much balls out of this!!

my other guitarist used to have the head and cab version of this, its pretty loud. but he now has a triple recto, that does the effing job!

Coming from a tube guy, this is my all time favorite solid state amp!!

Listen to the man with the cat avatar. He is correcter than those lacking said avatar.

whats that supposed to mean?

ive never played a randall, but for having fun with your friends, you will never need another effect pedal ( volume and wah excluded) with the crate

The quality on the Randall is on a whole nother level than the crate or the line 6. Sure, crappy digital effects are fun to experiment with, but it's nothing compared to the br00tal tone the Randall will put out.

well i was playing a spider jam amp, which is a solid state and has settings like a pocket pod w/ others like delay, and looping. Would it make more sense to just get a better amp and buy a loop pedal?

Three things. One, you got ripped off. Two, it doesn't sound good, especially for $500. Three, it COST, not costed.

Try a used 5150 combo or B-52 AT-112 or Randall RG50TC.
