I'm guessing aluminum foil or some form of non-magnetic metal, with a layer or two of lacquer over it.

I thought about doing this a while back but decided not to...

The guitar is first covered with one layer of somewhat wrinkled aluminium foil, then you cut pieces of completely smooth aluminium foil and glue on top. On some of the later models they also burned the top layer in the edges.

I was making a custom warmoth, which I originally planned to do a mixedmedia finish on, but they sent me such a nice flame maple top that I couldn't just cover it in aluminium. That quote was from one of the people posting in my thread.

Let me know if you go through with this though, I'd love to see how it'd turn out since I've never seen anyone do this before.

I think you'd have to import it yourself, ESP Japan aren't allowed to distribute in the US or Europe because they have models too similar to Gibson. That's why the western Eclipses have to have that fugly, sharp cutaway while the japanese ones look like regular Les Pauls.

i think this australian e-store can get it for you but it would cost a little more than it would if you bought it in japan
