Hey guys I don't normally post here but I've got a project on classic rock for school and I need to know the 5 biggest (most popular) classic rock bands in your opinion, I'll probably just go by majority. I know it's a broad question but please try your best to answer it. Thanks in advance

AC/DC
Aerosmith
Bon Jovi (if they qualify as classic rock)

Blue Oyster Cult
The Doors
Lynard Skynard
Black Sabbath

No ones mentioned Guns 'n' Roses because they are late eighties/early nineties the criteria for this forum is that the artists must have been well and truly established and successful pre 1984 so Bon Jovi don't qualify either.

Neither do Metalica or Def Leopard.
I wish I had tallent and ability.

you really got to think from EVERYONES perspective, rather than only poeple who know classic rock in general.

Therefore...
Beatles,
Led Zeppelin,
Pink Floyd
Rolling Stones,
and Ac Dc or even KISS.. (my opinion would be definately not them)

That is not necesarilly my opinion, but from what all people in general would probably decide.

If there's any band on there that would be replaced, it's not the Beatles. Probably Queen.
The Rolling Stones NEED to be on this list. They're the longest running act in Rock 'n Roll, and they have been very prolific.

I'd agree that The Beatles, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones have to be up there and very much disagree with anyone saying Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Thinking internationally I don't think Lynyrd came anywhere close to the others. The Eagles have one of the biggest selling international albums in history with their Greatest Hits - although I do suspect the majority of sales were in the US - and 'Hotel California' is very well known.
The Beatles have to be top, then Led Zeppelin (in my opinion).

5th, no idea. I'd maybe argue Bob Dylan
