To be honest i dont know what im looking for. I have wireless broadband at home and i want to get my computer to work on it. I bough i wireless receiver (i have a mac btw). It's made by a company called edimax. I tried to install the software, went as far as i could and then i plugged in the receiver. I think i might have to key in the details of the connection or something i really dont know . The guy in the shop made this sound much easier

Try to log into your router. I don't know what the IP adress are for macs (unless it's 192.168.0.1), the details are usually:

Username: admin
password: password

Or look through the manual.

^ If the WEP key was there when you bought the router it should be in the manual. If not you could always reset the routher.

depending on what mac you have, try the program called kismac. if you have a supported wireless card in your mac, then it will "sniff" the key off the router for you. WEP encryption is like trying to stop a car with a piece of tissue paper. Its not that hard to crack so long as you have the right hardware that is...
