haha well regardless of what yall think I really like it. I still need to get my wood burning kit (which I got on ebay for like 15$ shipped) and go back over some of the areas and darken them in a bit.

But I am really happy with the results. I love things to be unique, haha. But sorry my digital camera is old and fuzzy, not the best picture, but you get the general idea

But if anyone is curious about how I did it. I found the image online, and I made it bigger to the size I wanted and cutted out everything with an exacto knife. Then using a pencil I traced it onto my guitar, and used the wood burning kit to fill everything in, not to difficult just time consuming.

just thought id share :P

It's cool. Something like a rose would have looked better (On a Gretsch... /rockabilly mode)

But yea, it looks pretty good. Will you get pics up from further back so you can see the full guitar when you've darkened it?

its a wolf howling.

But im pretty sure you gotta be careful, cause if theres paint on it i dunno if it'll like melt the paint and make an uneven burned. it was a good idea on my guitar cause it was just the wood

Unfortunately, the big eye does look like a furry. But it's a good idea.

Wow, you did an absolutely horrible job.

Didn't it occur to you to practice enough to actually make it look good before burning it into your guitar?

Otherwise, it's a cool idea.

like I said in my original post that i dont really care what yall think about it, I like it an proud of it makes my guitar unique and thats all I care about. Doesn't change the sound of the guitar and its something that I did with my own two hands.

But in any case I just thought I'd share it. Like I said im proud of it, lol. But yea and that photo is really blurry. the lens on my camera is filthy but its an old POS and im to lazy to clean it, lol

Well, lol, the idea was grand, lol, until you ruined it by making the image look like a gay furfag, lol. Next time, lol, practice more, lol.

no I like it the way it is. I enjoy doing stuff with my own hands. And i usually respect people that do the same even if I don't overly agree with it.

But like I said I just thought i'd show it cause i've heard of people asking about burning **** into their guitar

I'd love to see you practice it.

Am I the only one who actually knew what it was first time round?

Kudos to the threadstarter, good job!

Cool man. Not my cup of tea but as long as you like it that's all that matters.

#25
what would i do if i wanted to burn into a glossy finish? would it affect it?
#27
I didn't have a problem finding it. I think the idea of burning it into the wood is pretty cool. It's something you don't see very often.

great idea bad follow through.

I 'm with you about the satisfaction of doing something yourself, but seriously man I agree with the others about practicing elsewhere first. It had potential to be alot nicer. sorry just my opinion. And having modded my own guitars when i was younger only to regret it later, i think you'll be feeling the same way in a few months/years.

i wish i was loaded and could ruin gibsons
you sir, i envy your vast amounts of money.
just give me a fender and let me rip
#31
ruin a gibson? you might not understand much about the wood, but with that small area burned it does not affect the sound and still plays like it always has which is the most important thing to me.

and secondly I did something that made it unique to me. In my eyes its better then anything you own just cause of sentimental value, who cares what others think? lol

I was expecting to see a total mess made of a Squier or something but you did a really good job of that. I'd be proud if it was mine.

why should I, its nothing im ashamed of. And why not burn something into your guitar. It's something i've never seen done. And it still sounds exactly the same. And I wouldn't take it back even if I had the opportunity to.

I love it. Most people never do anything to make anything they own and love uniquely them. Most people are to scared to. I mean yall can complain all you want, but the fact is I really dont care...

I've seen people asking about this and I posted this on here because I have seen people asking about burning designs into their guitar but since i havn't seen anyone try I thought I would show that it could be done. I really couldn't care less if yall like it or not. Opinions over things like this carry absolutely no weight what so ever. So no worries haha

any chance of seeing the orginal pic? that you burned? I'm looking for the wolf and I just can't see it, all I see is lines "not saying that your art is bad" just saying I personally don't see it but I think it's the way i'm looking at it.

Edit... that one pic didn't load, but after i posted it did and now I see it, I was thinking the wolf was facing the other way and I couldn't make it out. Pretty good though, I can't believe i missed that.
#39
^You're forgiven, since... you know... wolves, fursuit or real, don't look anything like that.

To be honest, you did a really good job on it, but the art itself is bad, bad, bad. Sorry.
