So lately i just got a peavey 5150 combo and i love it, but i can never play it above 1/2 at home or my mom throws a fit. so i rarely get to crank it unless im home alone or jamming with my band.
so i was thinking about buying a used valveking royal 8 and using an overdrive as a gain boost.
i play death metal so i need a good amount of gain.
Posible OD pedals:
Krank Krankshaft
Ibanez TS808
Maxon OD9
Keeley SD-1

Which one would be best as a gain boost?
any other suggestions would be great.

Personally, any of those would work, but i prefer maxon and Ibanez OD pedals, but if your going to buy an OD pedal why not just use it on your 5150.

i plan on doing that too
as im also getting a decimator and an eq for it.
but id like a more portable amp to put in my room and bring to my friends house.
im going to go to guitar center and see if i can try all of them that are available.
