I turned my amp on today, and got a super weak sound out of it. I turned it to 10 and could barely hear it. I know the problem though, just not how to fix it. In the back of the amp, there's the place for the effects loop, and the footswitch to plug into. The screws came out of the metal jacket covering the footswitch plug, and whenever I plugged the footswitch in, it pushed into the amplifier a bit. This has never been a problem, but now there's no sound, and when I push on the plug in a little bit, the amp regains full volume. So, any ideas how to fix this? I'm going to try rescrewing the plug, but i don't think that will stop the problem.
What amp is it?
It's a Peavey Special 212, it's pretty old.
Check the cable between the guitar and the amp.
