Well first before you decide anything go to a store and try them both through the same amp, same settings, see what appeals to you most. But off the top of my head I'd go wit the Ibanez, but I'd later switch the bridge pickup for an EMG-81 because it's sexy.

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

The Ibanez is a better but out of those two.

I'm not sure if this would sound better than the Ibanez RG4EXQM1 but the Schecter C-1 FR might be a better choice, if it sounds like C-1 Plus that is. It's better if you try them out at your local music store/Guitar Center.

I have the first one and... love it or hate it. Go play one because I seriously don't trust the Ibanez quality control. My RG4EX1 is great and feels not unlike a Prestige, but my friends RG3EX1 is complete crap with sprinkles on top. I swapped the INF4 for a Tone Zone and Edge III for OFR. The stock stuff is fairly decent and Edge III does hold tune quite well for around 6-10 month if setup was correctly done.

Isnt it kind of a hassle changing from a passive to an active pickup?
i say just buy something you really like that will last you a long time rather than get a lower end guitar and want to upgrade in a year or too.

well i just can't decide on pickups
i have a high gain amp, so im pretty sure i dont need super high output?
ah its so hard to choose
i need a suggestion, and you seem to be most knowledable about pickups
so give me the definitive pickups i need for a death metal sound to compliment my 5150
no presure or anything haha.
but thankfully my dad knows how to solder so installation should be fine.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread TS!

Anyways I always suggest Tone Zone on bridge. X2N also works well but you don't need a brutal pickup, ever.

F-spaced for Fender and Floyd Rose. Regular for Gibson and most Tone-o-Matic bridge clones.

I'd go with the Jackson, but don't base your buying choice off my opinion.
