It will crack the neck and release the demons of the underworld!

I am sure that it is fine, just adjust the action and all that ****.

The hotbar should be floating parallel to the principle axis at this point. Next, take a hammer, and beat yourself in the face while crying JIHAD. problem fixed.

You'll probably have to adjust the truss rod a bit for that kind of a jump unless you had some pretty heavy strings on there before. Otherwise then that you'll be fine.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

Those are some serious strings. What have you got on there now? I'd suggest going up one guage at a time so you can adjust your action and truss rod in a more controlled manner, and so your fingers can get used to it.

I have had 52-12s on here for the last 5 or so months

Are you down tuning?
#7
Oops, the set ive had on the the last 5 or so months is 52-10

Yes, I play mostly in drop C.

Heres a question though, when I tune up to Drop D or maybe Standard, will that be too much of a pull on the headstock?

It shouldn't be too bad, but you might have to adjust your truss rod. I had to do just that when I put 12-56 on my 'strat'. and I tune to E standard or Eb standard.

And going from dropped C to D standard shouldn't be that much of a pull.

I might just look at getting a 52-12 set rather than the 52-10 I have now. I prefer a thicker bottom.
