Ok so I recently bought a Pod XT live to hold me over until I finally buy a nice Tube combo, anyways, I really love hows it's set up, easy to get started with, I have it all set up on my comp with Line 6 Edit, hooked through USB(I have 2.0 ports if that helps)... but wth this ain't right, I'm using it with Audicity, and it sounds like ****, WHY!?!?!, I put my faith into line 6 again and they screwed me over.

Ok now, am I doing something wrong? I really want this to sound better, like the demo recordings on their site, or close, I really don't care but to me my Spider III SOUNDS BETTER!!, Like come on that isn't right I need some help, and I'll upload a clip later what it sounds like.

Thanks in advance.

Does it have some sort of speaker simulator on it? If not that could be the problem; I think with no speaker for it to go through you end up with all sorts of extra bits of tone that a speaker normally doesn't reproduce.

download Reaper, its free unless you buy the licence but it works without it forever...great program to use and learn.

anyways try that and see what you get, it could be you have a setting wrong on the pod.

Ok I've tried it with Sonar, Sony Acid, and Audicity, they all sound like crap, I've tried every single factory setting, and about 25 downloaded settings and around 45 of my own, they all sound extremely muddy and like crap... I'm not exaggerating...

How about just running the output to your stock sound cards line in then?
Sure it wont sound extremely great but it will hold you over for a while.

theres anyways the line6 message board for help as well. It sounds like you have something set wrong on the POD. Either that or you could use the latest drivers for the POD. You can get those from the line6 site.

I got the latest drivers, and no one has this problem, and I don't know how to rig it to my sound card.

if you listen to audio all the time though your sound card and it sounds good, thats not the problelm.

the USB takes the audio and sends it into the PC, your sound card is only used for the playback.

I say just get an interface like something from m-audio if you really want to record...
