I'm trying to turn one of my Guitar Pro files into like an MP3 format or something like that any suggestions?

I tried exporting it into a wave file but when I did no sound came out when I played it on Windows media player, and when I tried using the sound recorder it said the file was corrupted. This happens every time so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

on guitar pro: click File, then export as midi. then drag the midi file into itunes. (i know i know, itunes sucks but this works) then click on the track, go to Advanced and click "Convert Selection to mp3". It takes awhile but it works. and the quality is the same.
