so yea, ive been playing for about 4 or five months so far... my accomplishments on guitar so far are:

smells like teen spirit
sweet child o mine - intro
freebird chords/intro solo
wild thang
scotty doesnt know
unholy confession (can play it, but intro not up to speed)
paranoid (sabbath)

those songs arent really that impressive, i was wondering if anyone knew any good beginners songs...maybe without solo (or an easy one like smells like teen spirit )...that i could learn. i want something that isnt impossible but also isnt painfully easy...

if anyone knows anything like that

edit that's the link to the song program in basics section.

but forget it cause i just tried it and seems like it's not working.

there used to be a huge list of good novice songs over there.
instead go check out the top 100 tabs on ug's tab list. a lot of those are easy enough.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

Enter Sandman-Metallica? It is pretty easy but the solo might get a little confusing.
Same thing with One-Metallica but these songs might not be to ur liking cuz they're metal tho.

Learn Smoke On the Water? Or Hey There Delilah is a pretty easy song for beginners. It helps with chord changes and fingerpicking.

STORY OF MY LIFE by SOcial Distortion.

Still after 11 years of playing my favorite tune to do.

Scarified by Paul Gilbert

It's relatively easy, but very impressive. One by Metallica is also a good option.

I've been playing 6 months and I can play up to the the part of the solo just past the first tapping part.

Master Of Puppets, if you can manage the tempo (took me a lot of practice) can also be very fun.

Which one is better?

Skillet, Red, Demon Hunter, all have quite a few easy and fun songs to learn and play to.
Got a question about Baritone guitars? Feel free to PM me.

Thanks to UG, I converted from Metalcore to some "real" Metal.

Try the rythmm to rattlehead, master of puppets, am I evil, dying in your arms etc.

Also try to learn the intro to bed of razors.
This is my Signature.

That's just it, it's not.

Off-kilter, syncopated strumming, choppy rhythm, left hand damping and full barre chords - there's nothing remotely easy about that song.

Go back to church.. try Killswitch Engage songs such as My Curse, and Rose of Sharyn. Really fun songs without solos. Also try some Lynch Mob songs, they have some really fun "jamming" songs.

You've got to be ****ing kidding me.

That's the most technical song I know next to Curse Of Castle Dragon and The Gargoyle.

EDIT: And you've only been playing for 6 months?

Either you're an extremely dedicated player or you're a liar.
