Ok well first off, keep in mind, this guitar isn't a big fancy guitar.

It was let sit for awhile, it probably got wet, the wood is warped, but it still sounds pretty good.

But the frets above 7 do not work AT ALL. The first 7 work perfectly fine. I studied the neck pretty closely, and it's not deformed or anything. and no matter how hard you press the string, it just doesn't play anywhere near the note it's supposed to.

This isn't really a big deal, but I was just wondering what would cause this?

If it did get wet and there is some warpage, I'd bet that that has something to do with it -- especially if the bridge has been affected. What kind of guitar is it? You said it's not a fancy guitar, but would it be worth repairing?

wait...

you can't get a sound or you can't get the note that you want?

it could be either a fret buzz or an intonation problem, i just can't understand right from what you wrote
