hey everyone.

i played the les paul ultra today and fell in love with the neck. i have an epi standard with gibby pickups and love the guitar, but the satin/smooth back of the neck was amazing. i loved how it was not shiny and sticky.

anyone have any idea as to how to make the back of the neck like that. i really like how it didnt make my hand stick, but i really love this guitar and i do not want to damage/make it look ****ty. also i dont want to effect the red color of it.

is it worth the work and can it be done right, or am i hoping for something that is just not going to happen??

Without ostensibly harming your guitar (i.e. damaging, changing the color), I don't think it's possible to go from a high gloss to a satin.
