It was already reduced $100 and I managed to get another $100 knocked off. Didnt come with a case, but I got them to sell me one for half price.

I'll get a Les Paul later when I'm rich and famous.

Sure, the guitar's alright, but, my God...

Where did you get that strap? It's like, even cooler than the guitar. I need one, in my life. Now.
#6
Awesome, now get onto that amp.

And (with recent gibsons) that guitar is better than a gibson (more expensive here in the UK too).

Looks very nice, though I'm not a fan of EMGs.

Awesome guitar, I'm considering to buy a Esp Eclipse myself, in vintage-black. Awesome guitar, but the strap was even cooler, where did you get it? I want one! So ****ing cool strap!

It was just hanging there in the mom and pop shop where I got my guitar from.

As soon as I saw it I HAD to have it. Matches the axe perfectly. Its a Levys strap. Just google them.

Ive heard this comment quite a bit. What the problem with EMG's (aside from the stupid battery)

I wanted Duncans, but it didnt come with them, so I have to swap out if I find I dont care for the EMG's either.

We'll see.

I think the problem is that some people just don't find them versatile. If your playing Metal they're fine. Just try them out and see what you think.
#11
I like the finish on your fender.

On topic! Nice choice, I've heard great things, even if I do hate the shape.

EDIT: Emgs aren't very versatile, and in my opinion, have been hyped to the point of ridiculousness, seeing as there are much better pups available from DiMarzios and SD.

They just sound very sterile. You couldn't do cleans on them very well.

Its not that they aren't versatile, cos they are, providing your gain is always high.
They just don't sound right for anything BUT metal really =/
And don't start the David Gilmour argument cos he only used them as the ones he liked got interferance from the stage show stuff!

I hate you with a burning passion. Such a beautiful piece of craftmanship shouldn't be played through such a (relatively) mediocre amp.
Heads will roll. Throats will be slit. Blood will flow like springs of water.

nice guitar.

please don't turn this into another pointless emg argument guys lol.

TommyT: I'm not trying to argue
Just putting my opinion of EMGs and why I dislike them across.

Not trying to be hostile or anything, if you like them that's your decision, some people think I'm crazy for liking Laneys, strats and Ibanez but I don't care!

Nice guitar. I was thinking about getting an ESP but decided against it. But definitely get a tube amp, EMGs sound way better through them.

Yeah, like I said, I really didnt want EMG's, but thats what it came with. I tried to haggle them to swap them for me, but that was a no go.

I actually appreciate the various comments. I'll try them myself and also take the various opinions into account as well.

If anything, my amp is going to be the true hinderance at the moment. (*hides credit card from self*)
#22
Hah! I know that feeling.
I've gone from £1120 in the bank to £400 cos of gear! Its was my savings too! (I'm 15 mind ).

But that amp will do for a while, just make sure you get a new one at some point, Valve!
Though for such a guitar it'll be a hard job not to get a really posh boutique amp

Depends which EMGs you're using. If you have an 85/81 setup then your cleans are gonna suck, but a 60 in the neck sounds beautiful clean, better than alot of passives.

I'm never one to stifle!

Hell some EMG users are great sounding!
Coheed and Cambria are my obsession at the mo and Claudio uses EMGs!
By next week I'll probably be back onto Steve Vai!

EDIT: And I've never actually heard the 60 in proper use, probably only on record, and there would be chance that isn't actualy that pickup and all the studio magic changes it, I'll have to try all the EMG pickups one day instead of just the 81/85

A vox valvetronix is not a valve/tube amp..its a hybrid.

Correct. Not a true valve. I fail...
#33
You don't fail, they're decent amps!
I have to use one at school every friday (tomorrow!) unfortunately the drummer hits the drums so loud that even cranking everything to as loud as it'll go isn't heard but sounds decent when I hear it.
Just not too great with Actives.
#34
Actives only give the active sound through a tube amp, so get one :P

But awesome buy, I'm rather jealous right now!

They are the same. Full name is Vox ADVT series. So..... yeah.

To TS, looks like a great guitar? How does it play? Did you try out any Gibson Les Paul's in the store and A/B the Eclipse as well?
