is it possible to stick a loop pedal in between a PA and the speaker its going to, so that you could, for example, loop and entire miced drum set. I just dont know if speaker cables are okay for pedal or not.

You could run all the drum tracks through an effects send and stick the looper there. But never stick the looper in a powered line running to a speaker.
