I am composing a viking/folk metal type song, and I am trying to decide between two solos.

If it matters the whole song structure is as follows:

Melody
Solo
Melody Repeat
Fill
Rhythm Line
Tension
Climax
Solo Repeat
Melody Repeat

This is a rendered midi straight from the guitar pro tab.

they were both really boring, but then again, i'm not a fan of folk metal. sorry

I'd probably have the hear the rest of the music, first, but I like the second one better. It flows better, not as many notes repeat, and it just fits the Viking feel a bit better.

Thanks for the input ledhead67, greatly appreciated.

I was leaning towards the second one as well, I don't have the song recorded yet and the midi version sounds wrong (except for the solo), but I understand needing to hear the song, context matters.
