So I'm gonna be at this party tomorrow and I'm gonna be expected to impress everyone with some acoustic songs.

I need more songs, lol.

I'm looking for some well-known, quick to learn songs that will appeal to the average teenageer that doesn't know anything about music that likes to listen to rap and so called "punk" rock that is definitely not emo. These are the kind of people that will melt over Hey There Delilah.

Here's what I got goin' so far:

Hey There Delilah
Wish You Were Here
I'm gonna try and finish the Stairway by tomorrow, I'm almost done learning it
Good Riddance by Green Day
Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Under the Bridge by RHCP
Possibly a kick-ass version Dani California if I can make one up tonight.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Rise Against - Swing Life Away
take stairway off no "average teenager" wants to hear that, and why acoustic "they is like our grandpas guitars" and "no matter how un-metal and lame acoustics are we have to play them or we may never be able to check our e-mail with high-speed dsl again!" +10 to whoever can guess the reference and name the song
metallica- fade to black or nothing else matters
pantera- planet caravan or cemetary gates
Slayer- south of heaven actually sounds great on an acoustic
LTD KH-602
Schecter Hellraiser C-8
Bugera 333X
Boss TU-2, HM-2
EHX Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker
Crybaby From Hell
Way Huge Swollen Pickel

Smashing Pumpkins
Elliott Smith
Devendra Banhart

Voices. Seven Years (maybe), or Youre Not Alone by Saosin would be good, especially the first and third ones. Maybe a Paramore song would be cool. Never Too Late by 3 Days Grace seems to be pretty popular right now, its easy, and ppl should like it.
Jesus Ranch- Tenacious D
and as much as I hate to say it
but if you're doing Hey There Delilah you might as well do Emily by FFTL
Holden Caulfield is a friend of mine.
We go drinking from time to time.
That's going to be a swell party!
England is mine and it owes me a living
Oasis. Wonderwall, of course, and Don't Go Away.

Please don't be that guy, and spend the entire party playing guitar. Play a few snippets of songs if people ask you to, but nobody likes that guy.
Are you gonna be singing?
If so, do an acoustic version of Wonderboy by Tenacious D.

Meathook Sodomy

haha, I can imagine that. *Sung over a nice acoustic melody* "Butchery my meat hooks sharpened to penetrate Emasculate, gouging crotches I will eat!"

Layla Unplugged by the Clap. Only one of the best acoustic songs ever.

Agreed. Amazing acoustic song. So relaxed compared to the electric version.
Uh, I'm Yours by Jason Mraz seems to be ridiculously popular as of late. I swear, any time I've had an instrument with me for the past couple weeks, it's been like "LOLJASONMRAZLOL?" and yeah. It's four chords, the entire way through, with actually ONE other one thrown in before the choruses.
play wipe out by the ventures.

it sounds really cool and its fun to play.
