Hi, I'm looking for a pair of humbucker for my Les Paul. My favorite tone is Slash's LP in Sweet Child o mine music video.

I've been thinking of getting a Bare Knuckle but there's so many of them and so little samples to compare.

I don't want active pickups.

Something similar to Alnico IIs would be ideal.

Seymour Duncan Alcino II.

Bear in mind you'll have to be playing it through a JCM800 or Silver Jubilee.

BKs you have the "stormy monday" and "PG Blues" to chose from as they use Alnico II magnets. Or just go straight for the pickups Slash uses, the Alnico II Duncans

Me "Have you ever bled out your arse-hole?"

Her: Facial expression was priceless - "What??! Noo!"

Me: "Well if you want to keep it that way, **** off."

She then turned away and whimpered.

You forgot the main requirements though...

A pack of Gitanes, a bottle of Jack Daniels and a top hat.

But yes, a JCM 800 or Silver Jubilee would be great to have as well.

I don't expect my gear to be able to strike the tone exactly. Close is enough for me.
And someone please explain for me the different between moderate and hot pickup? I'm a noob in this field. Is it true that pinch harmonic comes easier with hotter pickups?

^Well, I can do pinch harmonics with any guitar - my vintage single coil equipped guitar, or my hotter PAF-voiced SG. I don't think it matters much, if you're got the technique.

"hotness" is referring to output. More output means it's pushing your amp harder, which make it easier to OD a tube amp. However, more output can also mean the tone gets darker, and in some badly made pickups, the clarity can be lost. Too much output can also make cleans hard to get from the pickup, or non-existant.

However, through your Kustom DFX, or your POD, I really don't think you're gonna notice much of a change with a pickup swap, if you notice anything at all. Your Kustom is a practice amp, right? the POD is a modeling tool. Neither are gonna let your pickups shine.

u need a new amp first

Line 6 POD X3 and Atomic tube amp is on the way

Will I be able to do some Zakk Wylde heavy tone with Seymour Duncan Alnico II pro? My axe is a Epiphone Zakk Wylde signature btw.

What's the point of getting new pickups if you're using a modeler? You should be able to dial in any tone you want with a modeling device.

It's not really true. Even modeler has tonal range limits. Beside I'm planing to get myself a good pedal board and hook it directly to the amp (it's a tube, btw). The POD is just for recording and effects.

btw, why do you want new pick ups if you don't even know what your amp sounds like?

Well, it's part of my strategy I made a deal with the owner of the local store if it doesn't sound as I wanted it to be I can easily return it within' 14 days. I will try to get the same deal with the pickup sets.
