Heres the deal,
For my Birthday, I want a cheap electronic drum kit, under like $250, what are some good ones? Not like those that are those boxes with pads on them like this:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Simmons-SDMK2-Digital-Multi-Pad-Electronic-Drum-Set?sku=490590&src=3WFRWXX&ZYXSEM=0&CAWELAID=152920922

but something more like this:

http://www.beachaudio.com/Ion/Ied01-p-58182.html?utm_campaign=froogle&utm_content=reg&utm_term=ied01&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=froogle&GTKW=ied01&GCID=C12585x003#

and about the one above, it doesn't have many pads on it, so could I add some? would any kind work? or would I need a special kind for that kit?

thanks a bunch!

Our Drummer has a VDrum Roland kit - i hates it so much its the most irritating thing ever in band practice - luckily he bought a mapex kit so it made it ok i guess

but anyway just to say when he had his he added loads of pads onto it so i guess that gives you some clarity on wether u can get pads to add on!!!

if your gonna get one like the first kit, go with something like this
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Simmons-SDMK4-Digital-Multi-Pad-Electronic-Drum-Set?sku=490591

yamaha makes one like that too, its decent for its size or whatever.

that second one, will probably be the worst sounding electronic drumkit ever

there's no such thing as a cheap electronic drumset, your gonna have to spend over 500 dollars if you want it to sound legit at all. you're probably better off getting a real set, or just saving up and getting a really nice electronic one

Dude, 250, thats like asking what kind of Gibson could I get with 75$ but a good one.

The best you'll do with that price range is going on Ebay and getting those Alesis, you can win a bid for around 3 sometimes.

I agree, the only good thing about electric drum kits is you can turn them down
