Hey guys,

Ive been using Martins and Elixirs for years, and i sort of want to try something else. Any suggestions?

Is going from light to med a big step regarding guitar set up for an acoustic?

I'm using D'addario strings for my acoustic and when the first time when I changed to D'addario I was like WOW!, the tone is amazing.

I agree, D'addario is a good pick.

I also agree

Hey, I also need to buy new strings, I guess I will go with D'addario as well...

What gauge should I buy ?

a) extra light,
b) light,
c) medium

And what kind of strings

i) Bronze
ii) Phosphor Bronze
iii) Flat Top Phosphor Bronze
iv) Silk and Steel

More options here: http://www.daddario.com/DADFAcoustic.aspx?ID=2

Also, somebody recommended DR strings, so I checked those out too.. but all of them seem to be Nickle Plated. Are those different ?

Thanks in advance !!

Earthwoods are definitely bright, not sure what the guy above is talking about, they were almost too bright for me. I just tried Ernie Ball's new Coated Acoustic string. A bit better tone than the Elixirs I was using. It has a titanium wire on the plain string to prevent breakage or something.

I like my DR's. They feel and sounds really nice.

I would recommend either lights or mediums to build finger strength for beginners.
Woohoo.
