Oblivion, if you don't get bored with it.
Mass effect.
Pretty much any RPG

when enough rednecks start talking about how awesome it is, that's when it's defined as classic rock.

OBLIVION FTW!!!
Neer stopped playing two years later
also, Shivering Isles Expansion adds life to the game after the main Story
(don't do both at once, it's funner if you do the first then the second)

Also,
Halo 3 has an epic story line

Call of Duty 4 is fun but mostly only for multiplayer

BIOSHOCK!!!!
^one of the greatest stories EVER
Blindfolds aside I'd probably still close my eyes

And try to feel a trembling fetal life inside
that shotgun barrel that's about to make me bleed

Like an ulcer in the stomach of the beast

If you like racing, any Forza or Gran Turismo will suck hours like you won't believe.

RPGs are terrific too. Heck, you can spend 100 hours on classic ones like FF VII, VIII, and X. Modern wise, there's Mass Effect and Oblivion.

Fighting games are great time sucks too. Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution for the PS2 and 5 for the 360 offer obscenely deep gameplay. You cannot button mash and win. I recommend getting both, since 4 has a deeper training mode, while 5 is better balanced, has online, and has a larger roster. Good luck the first time playing against someone skilled. There's also Tekken 5.

For shooters...the only few I can think of that could offer long term enjoyment are Gears of War, Call of Duty 4, Orange Box, and Unreal Tournament 3.
