I was trying out some scales and decided that the Whole Tone scale must be the scale they use for the music they play before some one has a 'flashback.' It's kind of driving me crazy, whenever I play it I expect myself to have some sort of revelation and when I don't - major let down. It's quite spectacular really. Try it on for size:

---------------------------2------------------------
------------------1--3--5----5--3--1----------------
------------1--3-----------------------3--1---------
---------4-----------------------------------4------
--3-5-7----------------------------------------7-5-3
----------------------------------------------------

EDIT: Put it into Guitar Pro and use the harp effect, killer.

According to Wikipedia, you're correct: "When one of these scales is played on a piano or especially a harp, starting from a low octave and moving up to a high octave, while at the same time pressing the sustain pedal, the result is a "dreamy" sound, such as are used in movies to signal the change from "reality" to a dream, or back from the dream to reality. "

Of course I already knew this but when I first found out about this scale I thought the same thing lol.

That is so fucking cool. Seriously, a scale which for some reason represents a dream like quality for everyone. Nice.

I'm hearing a steady *thump thump* from the people above me and I need some porno grooves to play on my bass to give them some background music. Any ideas?
