1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, even ten finger tapping. Help for noobs, and improves technique.

Don't make fun of others, it's not nice.
Don't make fun of me, I'll report you.
Don't spam this thread(others threads is okay )
And don't complain about how hard a technique is. Especialy if it's just one finger tapping.

tappings not hard.. but how the hell do you do ten finger taps.

So I just woke up sitting in my desk chair, with my bong on the desk in a bunch of little pieces and my hand super glued to my penis. Speculations as to what the hell just happened and how to unglue my hand from my member would be appreciated.

You borrow 2 fingers off someone elses hand of course.
I good song for tapping is, as much as I don't like the guy's music other than this one track, Satriani's - Midnight from the Surfing with the Alien album.

My guitar only has 21 frets(lame I know) so I bent that note on the high e string up, is tha acceptable? It kinda threw if the al tapping thing though...
#15
you could also go down one half step! it was the first thing that came to my mind!

also on tapping check out Enver Izmailov he can eat stanley jordan with tapping
#16
I think you mean UP a half step. If you go down a half step you would have to play higher up the fretboard. If your talking about tuning.

no!

if you go down a half step you play one fret lower on each string!

anyone have tabs for scales to practice 1 and 2 finger tapping (right hand)? I'm just getting into it and don't know a lot of scales that are easy to work with.
ESP Custom Shop 40th Anniversary Eclipse
ESP Standard Eclipse-II
Ibanez AF85VLS

yeah, scales are easy, but you have to know how to use them. Learn the pentatonic major and the pentatonic minor. Best scales ever.
#23
you can use them however you want! but tehre are some thing you can do! you can arpeggiate the whole tapping sequence...

OThugSD, just take any scale you would play with your left hand, and play it using only the right. It's a great thing to do to build your right hand for multi-finger tapping.

Here are some recommendations for multi fingered tapping, or simply more difficult than the standard 3 note arpeggios, guitarists.

Buckethead
Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
Dave Martone
Zack Kim
Stanley Jordan
Rusty Cooley
Michael Angelo Batio
Chris Broderick
Niels Vejlyt
Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal
Greg Howe
Michael Romeo

I'm here to help if anyone has any questions.

I knew when I made this that it would only be a matter of time before TheShred201 replied to this. He haunts the forums. And he's a tap god. That too.

If you want to do multi-finger tapping this guys lessons on youtube are invaluable, particularly when it comes to the issue of what to do with the pick.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of his pick holding method--it's clever, but when doing that, I end up pushing my thumb into the joint of my index finger, which slightly reduces the movement of that finger. It's a good idea, but for me, it's just not as comfortable as certain other things that you can do depending on the part. For sweep tapping with 8 fingers on the high string, as shown in one of his lessons, I'd probably do that since there's not any other way to recover quickly. If I can do something else though, I generally do.

Ultimately, it comes down to preference and what works for you.

Well he only generally pushes the pick up his hand like that when he needs all four of his picking hand fingers, apart from that he favours using the other fingers on that hand.

I was saying that for 8 finger tapping, I still only use his method if it's a very fast shift into and out of it. I wasn't speaking of less than 4 fingers on the right hand.

Then we agree and everybody wins!

wouldnt it be cool if the next legendary guitarist is born with 6 fingers on each hand?

I think it would be cooler if someone was born with eight arms and could play all instruments at the same time.

EDIT: Like the Bass, Drums, Guitar(obviously), and Keyboard.
