I downloaded a file, and it is a RAR. I have to extract it through WinRar, but someone put a password on it. I can't find the password because it wants me to register and it seems shady. Is there any way to hack the password etc?

EDIT: Sorry, I meant WinRar. Anyhow, when i go to extract the ISO, it requires a password.
Be cool.

Is it porn? Chances are you want to delete it.

Encrypted archive files cannot have their content virus scanned, due to the encryption. If it seems shady and is not important, get rid of it fast.

winzip does RAR files now??

RAR's encryption is solid so if the password is more than.....7 characters you can more or less give up as any brute force attack will need...months if not years

usually on encrypted RARs you get from the net it the address of the website

Unless you know something I don't, then I'd say you're in a spot of bother there...

Assuming that you downloaded it from your average torrent site, I'd check the comments section under the torrent you downloaded.
