First of all, this belongs in Gear & Accessories.

There are two types of amp: solid state and tube. Tube is another word for valve btw. The cheapest (and therefore most mass-produced) amps are solid state - the Marshall MG series, the Vox Valvetronix, Roland Cube and Fender Frontman are all solid state. Tube amps are more expensive, but have a better quality of tone, as the tubes they use in place of solid transistors produces a smoother overdrive.

They were made first.
I think the difference has been told soooo many times...no offence...but...use search please.
