Been writing a fair bit lately, I thought this one turned out quite well... Anyone care for a good critique? I'll return as fair as I can.

The Successful Choice?
__________________________________________________

We all love to poke about the truth with our sticks
Spread the word in all of it's glorious harmony
Well sometimes the truth means the exact opposite
But it will never co-exist within your hegemony.

As much as you're determined you cannot welcome your mind
To acknowledge all the possibilities that could be ratified and signed
Forever may your reasoning be proliferally blind
And you failed to persuade me otherwise again this time.

And while you talk of being a success
You've still got some learning to do
How naive to pledge yourself to something
When you still don't know what it means to you.

I'm tired of being lectured by self-confessed authority
I'm sorry for not feeling that I owe you anything
But nowadays I've no time at all for half-hearted apologies
I won't be lost with interest in your insecurities.

Motivation is the basis of getting most things done
Yet I can't seem to find any but I feel like I've won
I've chosen to commit to being happy inside my own skin
I won't waste my time watching the clock or even wondering.

And while you talk of being a success
You've still got some learning to do
How naive to pledge yourself to something
When you still don't know what it means to you.

Do I care to hear your explanation
Through another barrage of lies?
I won't deny there's always a temptation
But you're already guilty in my eyes.

And while you talk of being a success
You've still got some learning to do
How naive to pledge yourself to something
When you still don't know what it means to you.
What does it means to you? To you...
