So i dont have one, and dont plan to get one but i just want to know about it. So guitars made of Plexiglass look awesome (see-through ftw) and all but anyone have any comments or info on the tone differences between it and say something normal like basswood?

And if its not called plexiglass sorry, i hope you know what im talking about

I think it would sound bad. The Dan Armstrong Plexi's must sound good. Ive seen Dave Grohl use em live i think, so they cant be too bad. But im sure the glass must have very little, if any, tonal characteristics.

The good thing about them is that they have changeable.. slide in pickups. Nice feature... they sound surprising well too. Hence Dave Grohl... and Keith Richards was a big fan of them also

i read that those plexi glass guitars have crazy amounts of sustain, but i am pretty sure the guitar has a very thin tone to it.

Those are different. They aren't made out of acrylic, they're made of snot straight from Steve Vai's nose. I've played one, and they actually sound really nice. I can't really describe it as compared to any woods, it's just really different. I like it.

The only other acrylic guitars I've played were the B.C. Rich acrylics that they had a while ago, and they're complete crap. So I guess it really depends.

they are very sterile but every frequency is very even, they are nice if you want to plug into a processor, but other than that they weigh a ton and a half. You won't feel any guitar as heavy as those.
