does anyone know about the quality of the edge zero, im sure its great scince it replaced the edge pro on all the ibanez prestige models, but im still curious... also, i like to play alot of steve vai music, and how much of a beating can this, or one like it take... i havent owned a floating bridge before and am curious.

Fundamentally it is and Edge pro bridge, it just has the addition of a specialised intonation tool for each string, wammy bar tensioner, and ZPS3 which (I think) is adjustable spring tension in the back cavity (for setting up a floyd rose easier)

i think the ZPS is supposed to be a counter balance or something? they claim it helps keep the strings in tune after one breaks, so its basically an edge pro with a few more handy features? will it be able to take the kind of beating that Vai can dish out?
#4
Yeah definatly, the 'beating' will be on the knife edge, which remains the same as Steve Vai's guitar.

okay sweet, also.. how high can i pull up the whammy bar before worrying about a string break?
#6
You should generally be able to feel when the tension gets too high. Just don't be an idiot when pulling back.
#7
I dont know I've never tried it, probably further than you think, people like Herman Ri lift their guitars up by their wammy bars (something I will never do to mine as I'm not sponsored by Ibanez and hardly think its worth it lol) so I guess its down to the punishment your e string can take, which if its new, should be a fair amount.

oh yeah one more thing, is there a way to tighten or loosen the bar? i hope so, i dont want to have a loose bar and nothing i can do about it
#10
The wammy bar? Yes

That would be flutter. I haven't actually had the chance to try out the Edge Zero, so I can't really tell you about its level of flutter.
#15
okay, would anyone know if taking out the ZPS in it give it some flutter?
Edit: never mind beat me to it
#16
do you think theyd let me take the zps out in the store to try it out? ive never used a floating bridge before so i want to make sure it can do all the things id like it to
