Hi

I will soon upgrade my amp. I currently own a 10w peice of s***.(lol its true)
I want an amp that will be heard over bass and drums, i also want a decent non-digital sound.

Effects i would like on the amp are Reverb and Distortion/Overdrive. I would also want full EQ i.e Bass, mids treble.(my current amp has 3 knobs, gain, tone and volume)

I have no idea where to start.
Price Range: $400 to $500 AUD

Thanks in advance

(No line 6 Spiders please i tested them and they suck in my opinion)

EDIT: closer to $500 is my budget as i will probably go halves with my parents for XMAS

hmm. for that much you might be able to get a 50W marshall MG. I got a 100W fender FM for nearly $600 and that's a better amp. But if you're that worried about your tone, then you should be saving 3-4 grand to buy an all tube amp.

It depends on where you live aswell. Are you in Sydney? or in regional NSW?

^You don't need 3-4 grand for an all-tube amp. Look used.

What about those VOX amps? Hows the tone on them.
I am not going to be getting an all tube amp(untill i move out of home and become rich )
Anyway what about the VOX valvetronix
Also 30w should be plenty

Peavey Classics are nice versatile amps and can be found dirt cheap used.

Maybe a Crate Palomino or a Traynor?

Also if your not too worried about cleans or volume a Blues Junior might be enough to get over a drummer, but there's no sure way to tell.

All of them tube and somewhere around your price range new and used.
