List your favorite bands where you love all their songs except for the popular ones.

I can't stand the 30 Seconds to Mars songs I find on the radio (The Kill and Attack). I just happened to find out that the rest of their songs are really good.
#3
Muse: Starlight, Invincible, Supermassive Black Hole etc.

Although they're decent songs in their own right, they don't stand up to the rest of their stuff.
#4
Led Zeppelin.

Although they're popular songs are good e.g Stairway, theres definetly better unheard of ones that deserve more light e.g. Since Ive Been Loving You.

You know what you're talking about.

I'd say Aerosmith.

ive always liked their older stuff (showbiz, oos) more than bhar or absolution. bhar and absolution seemed to me like a giant leap from the music they use to make. but that doesnt mean i hate it, i love their stuff.

The White Stripes. Not to say I don't like their singles (Seven Nation Army, mainly) but I appreciate their other songs much more...

Also, MCR..

Invincible isn't a popular one.

Coheed and Cambria: I love all of their songs (hated The Running Free at first ,but it grew on me), but their series songs (Willing Well, Velourium Camper, The End Complete) are by far better than their singles.

Nirvana. Smells like Teen Spirit gets really, really annoying after hearing it so many times. And like metaldud536 said, Enter Sandman definitely is not Metallica's best.

AC/DC.... I cannot STAND Back in Black, Thunderstruck, etc. Or most of their other Brian Johnson material for that matter.

Perhaps... but I really love the stuff from the Bon years, and Brian does a good job of those songs, I'm just not a fan of most things from them after 1980.

LostProphets. Their first two albums were suprisingly very good.

Agreed.

Although Fake Sound... is their best album by far.

After that they went downhill.

Also, In Flames: I dont like most of their older stuff, the Lunar Strain era.

I like some Nickelback, but Rockstar pisses me off no end.
I love MCR, and I think I Don't Love You and Welcome to the Black Parade are a couple of their weakest tracks, particularly the former.

Snow Patrol were good until they released Eyes Open, which mostly sucked. I liked Set the fire to the third bar and Hands open, but Chasing Cars got so overplayed and the rest is just mediocre radio-friendly drivel. Also, I think Spitting Games was one of the worst singles on Final Straw. The only popular Snow Patrol songs I like are Run and Chocolate.

System of a down are great except for Hypnotize, which I didn't like that much.

I don't like too much of Showbiz by Muse, despite being completely in love with the other albums and nearly all their b-sides. I think it's probably because I listened to Absolution first, but it's always been full of disappointments. If I had zero expectations, it would have been a good album.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

The Mars Volta, I first saw the music video for a song like "The Widow" or something, and hated it, then someone linked me to Goliath and I thought it was godly.

I'd say they went uphill and Start Something is their best effort. On Fakesoundofprogress (the real title ), the vocals are whiney, the guitars are amateur-ish, and the arrangements are very basic. But each to their own, I s'pose.

I think this kinda thing tends to happen with a lot of people and their favourite bands. It's not that they don't like the singles and popular songs, it's just that those tracks get played so often that hardcore fans get sick of them and tend to skip them because they've heard them one-too-many times on the radio or whatever.

Not very many people care about them over here in Canada, so we don't have to worry about annoying teenagers liking them.

I'd say I like a lot of the lesser-known Pantera and Guns N' Roses songs, but that doesn't mean I dislike any of their massively popular tracks.

That's idiotic.

one band. two words when said together sound far too gay for a metal band. but, my answer to the question is

Dragonforce.

Actually, they would probably be my choice.
I love some of the stuff off the first two albums but most of Inhuman Rampage bores me .
Through The Fire and Flames isn't even close to their best song but its the one that everyone judges them on.

Here we go, I have so many...

Avenged Sevenfold - Everyone's heard Beast And The Harlot, Bat Country, Almost Easy, and all the rest of them. But I much prefer A Little Piece Of Heaven, Lost, Betrayed, Trashed And Scattered, Eternal Rest, Unbound (The Wild Ride) and We Come Out At Night.

Children Of Bodom - Needled 24/7 is so overplayed. Children Of Decadence and Kissing The Shadows are much better songs.

Chimaira - The Flame, also overplayed. How's about songs such as Empire, or Comatose, or The Dehumanizing Process?

Lamb Of God - Redneck, again, overplayed to the extreme. Songs such as Blood Of The Scribe and Blacken The Cursed Sun are much better in my opinion.

The same goes for many bands really.

Ok Go.

Mainly "that treadmill song", which was definitely one of the worst.

Coheed and Cambria has tons of great songs that don't go on the radio. (the only one I've heard is like Welcome Home)
They've got:
Delirium Trigger
The Velirium Camper III: Al the Killer
The End Complete III: The End Complete
and stuff like The Crowing, too.

I love the **** out of AC/DC, but I can't stand listening to T.N.T and Dirty Deeds anymore. Everytime I let my friends choose a song from my Ipod or computer or whatever, those are the only AC/DC songs they will play. The same happened with Black Sabbath (Paranoid/Ironman), Guns N Roses (Sweet Child O' Mine/Paradise City/Welcome to the Jungle), and a lot of other hella famous songs and bands like that.

I still love all those songs and listen to them if they come on while listening to the album or flipping radio stations, but it gets ridiculous when those are the only songs other people will go to.

The White Stripes, I really only have listened to their bigger hits, I should delve more into their catalogue but I find some songs to be a little filler-ish. I mostly like The Strokes, but again, I just don't like to listen to certain songs. I can only listen to about 2-3 songs on the "Room On Fire" album.
#40
Danzig, I've heard songs like Mother and Dirty Black Summer(which is probably one of the most badass pinch harmonic riffs along with Twist of Cain)

Fall Out Boy, they actually have some pretty awesome songs believe it or not.

Led Zeppelin, Stairway + Black Dog + Whole Lotta Love = Epic Fail, Bring It On Home + We're Gonna Groove + The Battle of Evermore = Epic Win

My Chemical Romance, most of their songs are nothing like Welcome To The Black Parade, Famous Last Words, and Helena...
