Just a quick question. How would you play this?

77
XX
55

Do you play it like a normal power chord, index on 5, pinky on 7, and the ring finger mutes? or do you index 5, mute with index, and use the ring finger on 7?

You could play it both ways; they're both fine as long as the middle string doesn't sound.

Those aren't power chords though, that's an octave shape.

i like to have my first finger a little sideways if that helps, so then that flabby skin part between the knuckles catches it

Thank you It seems like it will be easier to slide from say 5 to 7 using my ring finger.

An octave is an interval, not a chord.
