how is this thing in general
my friend is playing indie to punk to alternative, so he basically needs the best cleans he can get, a nice bluesy overdrive and maybe a little more
not much though
he is gigging in small venues and needs that so is 1x12 enough?
how does this stock up to the high end fenders in terms of cleans and overdrive
any help appreciated
thanks

plus what about the hot rod deville? i think a 2x12 might work better because he needs quite a bit of headroom on his cleans

right Metallica is a given. Personally I like to pretend the bus exploded and killed them all in '86.

the 1x12 is more than enough. ive played it in an auditorium before, never turned it past 3.

the cleans are amazing imo, very bluesy. not for more heavy rock or metal, but pedals can always change that.

I can't imagine anything worse than shagging to Mark Knopfler.

Maybe shagging Mark Knopfler, but that's about it.

The hotrod deluxe is a good amp. Has great cleans. They paled in comparison to Fender's higher end models like the tweed reissues and other high end amps, but they were still pretty good.

That amp is insanly loud! We have four of them at my school. They are crazy....The 60 watt devill is even louder...
I have too much gear to fit!

I've never used this model but I have a 60w deville (2x12) and obviously mines louder, I would expect similar tone and this fender series kills that clean/overdriven blues tone. I am currently using a fender mexi strat with it and it sounds soooo good

i'd rather **** mine over my girlfriend

07 Fender American Deluxe Strat
07 Fender Custom Telecaster
09 Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster
09 Fulltone OCD V.4
10 Ibanez WH-10 V.2
09 Splawn SuperStock

ha yeah is there any difference between the deluxe and the deville besides 1x12 to 2x12, 40-60 watts, and obviously just loudness
are they the same thing, just different sizes?

^Essentially.
I didn't look them over enough to check out different features.
But aside from the speaker configurations and wattage ratings, they are both very similar tonally, if not exactly similar.
