*sigh* But I love Octavarium :[

It's 24 minutes long. In The Name of God is only 14 minutes, and there are 'parts' to Metropolis that are short.
TOO MANY PUPPIES

I suggest you select the least popular of the woman-creatures, and fart directly in her face.

Endless Sacrifice, Blind Faith, probably any song from Scenes from a memory. Can't figure out just a few good songs, because they are all good.

That's the Petrucci solo stuff.

I really like Beyond This Life and Constant Motion.

+1 for pretty much everything mentioned. Try Erotomania too, if you like instrumentals.

Edit- to guy above, I think Dream Theater is in the Shred and progressive forum.

can somone please suggest some good dream theater songs, preferably not too long.

You see the bit in blue? Yeah, well that indirectly contradicts the bit in red.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

All of them are good..
But not so long ones?
Pretty much the entire album of Awake except for the last few songs (like after The Mirror) are short for Dream Theater.

Overture 1928 and Strange Deja Vu are good.
#24
All of them
the best short one is probably Beyond This Life
