The volume knob

Almost all tube amp combos have the controls on the back, rather than the front of the combo (front being where the logo and speakers point out towards)

well on the overdrive channel i believe it has a pre and post knob. the pre is gain and the post is volume

It's the Pre and Post Gain knobs. Turn the Pre to wherever you want the amount of saturation to be (eg. the distortion aspect of the tone), and the post will be the volume at that point.

Apparently they knocked off $200 because the mid knob was broken.

If it makes you feel better, I regret buying the dsl. Its awesome for everything up to hard rock. Doesn't handle the djenty stuff too well, though I've yet to try a good OD like a tubescreamer or maxon on it. I'm probably going to get a Powerball this summer, anyways.

I don't like DSL's...

But, eh, enjoy the Powerball. ENGL = major win.

Oh, and is the 5150's bass flubby? Or is tight? I have an OD, so I could tighten it up w/ that, but just lemme know.

I'd say it's pretty tight. I've got it on 7.5, and with my Loomis it retains all tightness for riffing or whatever. I can even run a sonic stomp or eq with boosted lows and it has yet to get flabby.
