I play alot of metal but i also want the pickup to have a smooth sound for soloing and get good harmonics I am planning to put it in an Ibanez S470 (Mahagony) and I use a Randall G3 (partial tube)

For passives, Invaders seem to be a love or hate thing here on the forums. I haven't really tried them myself or listen to much music with them (that I'm aware of). I did like the Duncan Distortion set, and had been contemplating that set for an upgrade on one of my older guitars (ended up selling the guitar though.)

For actives, definitely SD Blackouts. Yes, I do own them....

I'm quite fond of the good ol' JB/59 set. Great for metal and can still do just about any genre. But if you really wanna go all out, get a set of Blackouts.

I heard blackouts have a pretty bad feedback problem. That true?

Not that I've experienced...

JB is great for the bridge,

'59 or Jazz work well for the neck.

Amott uses '59 and Jazz is used by Mustaine, for instance.
