So somehow my mediocre $300 Jay Turser LP 200-D has some serious sustain and resonance. I've been playing for about 2 months now and I don't want to get into the bad habit of not muting. Now that I've pinpointed resonance as the source of my muddy and often very inaccurate-sounding tone, I'm having trouble fixing it. Are there any exercises good for this? It's pretty much making most things I play sound like crap. (Especially Fear of the Dark, heh)

Thanks!
